Another school year is over (+ thank God for the rains!)

We're spending the last week of May here in our provincial home before the movers come on June 1st to haul the big furniture and appliances and bring them to our city apartment. I'm getting less and less sentimental now. Thinking about the 20 years that I spent here with the husband and giving birth to and raising our kids here, it's just really time to move on. There's more opportunity in the city for all of us, not to mention the quality of education that my daughters are getting under the Cambridge curriculum and the IB curriculum. There's nothing much to complain about living in the city -- except for the horrible pollution and the horrendous traffic. Good thing the husband and the girls just walk to school.
Anyways, I've finally put away most of the important documents in a suitcase. I've cleared my bookshelf too. I just need to ask my girls to help me sort stuff in their room. They've got so many sketchbooks and journals and building toys. They're officially on vacation now so I will have to impose a bit so we can move a little faster around here.
I never imagined that decluttering and moving out can be this tiring, especially when you don't get a lot of help.
But as my dad would say, "little by little does the trick". I just wish I had more time. We're leaving for the U.S. on June 10th and will stay there for a month. I'll have to ask our local agent to let me sort out a few more stuff when we come back in July.
In the meantime, I shall spend the next 3 days here discarding and packing more items. Good thing the rains have come. It's a lot cooler now. I work best in this type of weather.
See you around.

Moving is a big, tiring project. I'll bet you'll be glad when it's done. You will love California when you come and visit. Have a good week and don't work too hard.

We've finally moved in the big furniture and appliances. The new apartment is pretty habitable already. Unfortunately, I'll have to leave lots more stuff in the old big house before we leave for California. I'll finish the job after our US vacation. So excited to see our family and friends in CA and to experience nature there. Have a good week, Linda. Thanks for the reminder to take it easy. There's so much to do but I'm trying to do things one at a time and remember to rest when needed.

Thank you, Karen. Yes, we'll be in California this summer. Staying in San Jose most of the time but will spend a few days in San Francisco and LA to meet other friends and relatives.

It is so very. I should've lived a more minimalistic life. I find it difficult to part with things.
