Day 136 – Offering Numbers 15:1 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I am giving to you, 3 and you make an offering by fire to JEHOVAH, a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering or in your appointed feasts, to make a sweet aroma to JEHOVAH, from the herd or the flock, 4 then he who presents his offering to JEHOVAH will bring a grain offering of one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-fourth of a hin of oil; 5 and one-fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering you will prepare with the burnt offering or the sacrifice, for each lamb. 6 ‘Or for a ram you will prepare as a grain offering two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-third of a hin of oil; 7 'and as a drink offering you will offer one-third of a hin of wine as a sweet aroma to JEHOVAH. 8 ‘When you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering, or as a sacrifice to fulfill a vow, or as a peace offering to JEHOVAH, 9 then will be offered with the young bull a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil; 10 and you will bring as the drink offering half a hin of wine as an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to JEHOVAH. 11 ‘Thus it will be done for each young bull, for each ram, or for each lamb or young goat. 12 According to the number you prepare, so you will do with everyone according to their number. 13 Every native-born will do these things in this manner, in presenting an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to JEHOVAH. 14 ‘If a stranger dwells with you, or whoever is among you throughout your generations, and would present an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to JEHOVAH, just as you do, so will he do. 15 ‘One ordinance will be for you of the assembly and for the stranger who dwells with you, an ordinance forever throughout your generations; as you are, so will the stranger be before JEHOVAH. 16 One law and one custom will be for you and for the stranger who dwells with you.’” God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Iesous – Jesus Christos – Anointed One, Messiah Adown – Sovereign ruler God’s character: Holy When you think about offerings, free-will comes to mind when someone does something special and asks for a donation or free-will offering. Then you have fundraisers when people give to a good cause or support something important to them. People also give to their local charity or church to support the work they do. JEHOVAH required the people to give Him an offering. When they gave their offerings, they were to give it in a specific manner. Grain, oil, and wine accompanied every offering He required of the people, whether it was for a sin offering, vow, peace offering, or burnt offering. Everyone needed to give the same offering, those native-born and strangers who lived among them. When they made their offerings to JEHOVAH, they came before Him as a sweet aroma, and He blessed the people. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, JEHOVAH expects the same from you. He expects you to support the ministry of the church. For Israel, it wasn’t a suggestion for them to do or not do. JEHOVAH required it of them. It’s not a suggestion for you either. You cannot expect JEHOVAH’S blessing on your life if you don’t give your offering. Do you know what the ministry of your church is? Your local assembly doesn’t hold out their hands for your offering for no reason. They post what your offering does for the ministry. It helps missionaries spread the gospel of the Lord Iesous Christos. It supports those in need in the community, not only within the church. What can you expect if you don’t give your offering? A dark building because the bills for maintenance and upkeep weren’t paid. Missionaries who cannot go to the mission field where Yeshuwa called them. No community outreaches. No minister to preach the gospel. Your local church would fold, and you would have nowhere to attend church. Think about that for a moment. What are you doing to help the ministry? Malachi 3:1 “Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Adown, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” says JEHOVAH of hosts. 2 But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to JEHOVAH an offering in righteousness. 4 Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to JEHOVAH, as in the days of old, as in former years. 5 I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, adulterers, perjurers, those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, and against those who turn away an alien—because they do not fear Me,” says JEHOVAH of hosts. 6 “For I am JEHOVAH, I do not change; therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. 7 Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts. “But you said, ‘In what way will we return?’ 8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says JEHOVAH of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor will the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” says the LORD of hosts; 12 and all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says JEHOVAH of hosts. JEHOVAH did not make a suggestion to the people when He required an offering from them. He told them He would bless them. When you give your offering, He will do the same for you. You will see His blessing in your lives and know His appreciation for all you do for the ministry of the church. Let’s pray: Father, to often I withheld my offering from You. I see lack instead of blessing in my life. Today, I commit myself to You in the offering You require so Your Word and work will go throughout the world. Bless me as I bless You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 2 June 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

Thanks for sharing. It's a thoughtful reminder of the biblical principles surrounding offerings and how they support the work of the church.
