The Gift of Love

Today, we celebrate the great feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, Corpus Christi. Love requires patience and compassion. When someone loves, they long to be with the one they cherish. As Baltazar said, "O powerful love, when it enters anyone's heart, they will do everything to follow you." Therefore, love seeks the presence of the beloved. Thus, God is love. He desires to be with those He loves. God gives us a sign of His love, which is the feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. For those who attend Mass, we feel God's presence in our lives. God never abandons us. He is with us in everything. God sent His Son as a powerful sign and a living reminder of His presence. Through the Body and Blood of Jesus, we are redeemed from our sins. Remembrance brings the past into the present. Every time we celebrate the Holy Eucharist, the altar becomes the cross, and the priest re-enacts the death of Jesus. In this way, we feel the presence of God. The Eucharist is a gift that comes with a challenge. It calls us to be a gift to others as well. We should be a part of others, especially those who are hungry and oppressed. The Eucharist urges us to share our hope and to give motivation and inspiration to others. The Holy Eucharist is better understood if, like Jesus, we are willing to give ourselves to others. How can we, in our daily lives, embody the spirit of self-giving and love that the Eucharist teaches us?

Those who know how to love, that comes naturally to them. Giving and expecting nothing in return.

You're absolutely right, love and self-giving should flow naturally from the heart. It's a beautiful reminder that true giving is about expecting nothing in return. Thank you for sharing this wonderful insight!

This is a difficult question and I don't have an answer. But I feel like God abandoned me.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel this way, Diana. Sometimes, life’s challenges can make us feel distant from God. Remember, even in our darkest moments, God's love is constant. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you. Keep the faith, and know that you're never truly alone.
