In bengal jackruit is used both as a fruit and a vegetable. As a fruit it is called kanthal. As a vegetable it is called enchore. the seeds of the jackfruit are boiled and eaten with rice and mustard oil. It tastes lovely.

We have jack fruit trees and yes we too eat boiled jack fruit seeds.
