Spiritual, Religious, Neither. Which One Are You?

When it comes to the subject of religion, I can honestly say that I am more spiritual - in the sense that I always thank the universe for things. Sure, I could say I thank God, and sometimes I do say that, but to me, I feel we have a soul, but in a more energetic type of way. Some people are religious and pray to God. I have a cousin who is so incredibly religious that it can be a put off in many ways. I appreciate that she is faithful in her Christianity, it's admirable. I just don't feel it the same way, which is another reason, I am the black sheep of my family.
I had a sort of argument with my cousin, and she was upset because I always use the word Universe, instead of God. I told her, well the Universe is God. She went on to share religious quotes and tell me that it's a "sin" to say Universe, and that the Bible is all true. She even volunteered to "change" me. This is the main reason we don't get along. Anyway, I want to know if you believe in a higher power as a God, or as a source of energy, or if you don't believe at all.
There is absolutely no judgment here, I pretty much respect anyone, religious or not. We are all human, and we all have a right to believe what we want. One of my very good friends is Atheist, so. To each there own, with respect to others.

That's fine too. I have some very good friends who are also Atheist, and they are one of the most genuine people that I know.

I absolutely agree with you on this! I would never do that to anyone. I believe that everyone has their own beliefs, but I was just curious to see the viewpoint of others.

Yep, I guess I'm religious now. I used to be like you, thanking the universe and all that jazz. Practicing occult stuff and even believing in superstitions and good luck charms and what nots. Oh boy, if only somebody told me I was violating the first commandment with everything I was doing back then I probably wouldn't have gone downhill, crashed and burned. Oh well, at least I finally learned the truth. Thank you Lord!
I'm so glad I discovered the many talks and interviews of exorcist priests on YT, that started the ball rolling and now I'm back in God's flock since 2023!

i say heavens but i should start using universe as well. i was never too religious but after some bad things in my life, i decided to be spiritual, no more religious. maybe i only say thank god for some things but it is more a figure of speech here.
