Prayer is more than just reciting words. It is a deeply personal and meaningful connection with the divine. For example, when we recite the Lord's Prayer, understanding the significance of each line, such as "Give us this day our daily bread," can deepen our appreciation for the blessings we receive each day. Similarly, when we reflect on the meaning of the words, "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us," we are reminded of the importance of forgiveness in our lives. Moreover, believing in the power of prayer can make a significant difference in its impact. For instance, when we pray for the well-being of a loved one, truly believing that our prayers will be heard and answered can bring comfort and hope in difficult times. Praying with love means approaching prayer with a genuine desire to connect with the divine and express our deepest feelings and desires. When we pray with understanding, reflection, belief, and love, our prayers become more than just words. They become a powerful force for positive change in our lives and the world around us.

Matthew 6:6 I believe prayer is a time of contemplation. Silence enables us to reflect. My mom was a firm believer in the power of prayers yet she hardly attends church mass. I can only recall the one time she when to the Quiapo church of the Black Nazarene.

Great to learn this. Indeed in silence one can search oneself to the deepest and build faith. It is in the searching that we find our true selves!

Absolutely, Josefina. Your mom's faith and belief in the power of prayers, even without regular church attendance, show how personal and profound one's spiritual journey can be. The visit to Quiapo church must have been a special memory for her.

@SIDIKIMPOLE ~ Near impossible in a crowded church. Too much distraction.

The Lord's Prayer is full of meaning and as you have said it needs to be felt while reciting it.

I like this. Prayer should go and reach deeper than just common recitation of words. However, we also need to be living an exemplary life if we really want prayers to be answered. Anyway much thanks for your sharing. Really informative!

Prayer should indeed be a deep and meaningful experience, more than just reciting words. Living an exemplary life is also crucial in aligning our actions with our prayers.
