Using the office phone to try to contact my phone provider, because my Phone is not working. It has no bars, and the battery is nearly fully charged, but I cannot call or text anyone.
I tried doing everything the first (or second) lady told me to, and even went back to my apartment to get the sim card "key" and my charger, and said that the next person would know when I got them, but of course when I got/called back I got some clueless guy who, like the first two ladies, I could barely understand, and I asked for a supervisor several times, and I kept being told, "Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm looking for one." and then after several more minutes of this guy twiddling his thumbs or whatever he was doing, I gave up and hung up.
Before I left the office I ran into a neighbor, who said we'd "deal with this together" as she's familiar with all of my phone problems. She said I should go to AT&T and bundle a phone with my internet.
Maybe I shouldn't have, but when I got home, I signed up for an entirely new phone server (not AT&T). Now I'm waiting to see if they approve my application, and do whatever comes next.
My head just doesn't feel right right now. I need to not think about this phone junk for a while.

I had signed up for internet with AT&t and told them I wanted wireless internet. The box I got was totally different that I would have to plug into...I tried calling them and had the same problem. I ended up taking the box and mess of wires to the UPS Store and having them ship it back. I NEVER want to deal with AT&t again!!!! I'm at the point that if I can't understand the person I'm speaking to I just hang up. I went to T mobile and was thrilled because I just wanted internet and they not only got that for me but set my equipment up for their interface. Your problem sounds like my neighbor who went through the same thing and did the same thing with her internet and cable. Usually the next phone server you sign up with takes pity on you and what you went through with AT&t and signs you up.
