Participating in group discussions

Friends, I have something serious to rectify. Honestly enough, when there are group discussions, or a friend circle is discussing a particular topic, I am just not able to put up my thought forward.
I know I have a few things to talk about. It's not that I'm totally blind about it. But I just cannot speak up. How do I rectify this? Please help me, friends.
I seriously need your help. Due to this habit of not speaking up, I cannot defend myself even when I am right. SOS!!!

There's no shame in that. A lot of people get flustered when talking in fromt of people. I actually am one of those types of people. I struggle to participate in a group chat, unless I'm talking on a space like mylot. I can contribute, but take my time and type out my thoughts at my own pace.

Actually, I feel, we are quite the same. When I am talking informally to someone, or if there's a one-on-one discussion, it's okay for me. But when there are more number of friends, it happens to me. Only if I'm very interested in my topic, I can talk. Otherwise, I am just a spectator.

@abhi_bangal I think there's a lot more like us. Being social is ingrained into human nature, but it's not supposed to be easy.

When I said, "Actually, I feel, we are quite the same." I was drawing similarities between you and me only. Because you too reciprocated the same thing. So, I said that. By the way, you have mentioned the general human tendency. Just clearing the air

It takes practice and some confidence to speak in front of a group. You will get better. Have a good day.

Yup. Practice makes man perfect, as we have so often heard. But to practice, I'll need a group and that's what I'm trying to practice.
