My taxi was five minutes early picking me up from art class today, which was goof. When I got there our usual tutor, Tina, wasn't there. I don't know why she wasn't there, but a different lady was there. I think her name was Sonia. I went to the toilet first, then I had a cup of tea. Lee didn't bring her little doggie today because she had both her dogs this morning and one of them, Izzy, went for another dog and it pulled Lee's shoulder. So she left them with a friend for the afternoon and overnight so she could recover. We were doing parts of a suit of armour today. There were breastplates, helmets, swords and shields. I was greedy again, and asked for four pictures! I had one helmet, two swords and a shield. As you can see, I chose the shield to do at art class. (See photo above.) We painted our paper black to start with. Then when the black paint was drying, Sonia demonstrated how to do whatever we were doing. When the paint was dry we transferred the picture to the paper using white carbon paper! (Who knew that was a thing? Apparently they come in several colours!) Then we painted an underpainting in areas. I used yellow ochre at the top and vatious shades of the blue. In the inner areas I used red mixed with burnt umber and a bit of yellow ochre. When that was dry we started putting in a few details of texture. I did a lighter blue over the yellow ochre at the top, making sure to leave a lot of the yellow ochre showing through. When that was dry I added little dots of burnt umber. Then I did the centre with burnt umber. Then I did the outer and inner edges with brunt umber. The intersection parts I did one side with burnt umber and left the side where the light was hitting. When that was dry I added yellow ochre round the edges and the intersection parts where the light is hitting. Then I left it to dry. I'm going to finish it off at home. (But not tonight.) I wish I'd have had a smaller brush to do the edges with. When I come to finish it at home I'm going to tidy up the edges with a smaller brush before I come to do the rest of it. We went and put our paintings on the floor so that everyone could look at them. Sue said there's s "sit down and paint" session on 22 August at 6:30pm, but I'm not going to that. No more taxis, thank you! If I had someone to come with me or someone to give me a lift I might, but I don't, so I'm not. Afterwards I asked Sue if I could have a copy of the prospectus for next term so that I could do something similar at home. When she gave it to me I put it in my case. I put another unused piece of acrylic paper over my painting incase any of it was still wet, but I think it was dry anyway. Today at art class I had 2 cups of tea and I went to the toilet 3 times. (If you wanted to know that! ) I went outside to wait for my taxi. He was late again, but I really didn't want to phone to ask where he was. He came at about 7 minutes passed. It was a British guy () and he apologised for being a bit late. () so I forgave him! When I got home I had my dinner and watched some telly. Then we went round to my Mum's friend Nan Nutt's house to give her her birthday presents and to collect my Mum's birthday present from her. Then when we got home again I had a little vegan cake and some mini cheddars that I forgot to have at lunch time. And watched some more telly (which I'm still doing!) What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a great night.

@sharonelton I do hate taking taxis - so many things to worry about, such as should I tip the driver? Should I get into the back or the front? Should I chat or remain silent, and if I remain silent will the driver think I'm unfriendly? What if I have the suddent urge to pass wind or to vomit? Several times when I've been sitting in my car awaiting my wife, people have tried to get in the back thinking I was a taxi. It's all so fraught with negative possibility.

I'm not keen on taking taxis. It's too stressful. And they're mostly asians and you can't understand a word they're saying! I don't have the same problems as you though. Should I tip the driver? - No Should I get into the back or the front? - Back Should I chat or remain silent? - Only speak if spoken to. Pass wind or vomit? - Not likely, but if it happens, tough luck! Anyway, it's over now. I don't have to get any more taxis.
