I went to the little Tesco early this morning, because of going to the funeral.
Actually, Syd came down stairs at 8:00am, just as I was getting up, and I heard him say were we going to start off at 11:45am then, if the funeral starts at 12:30pm? My Mum told me later that he first thought the funeral started at 9:30am!
But Mum said, No, I've always said it was 12:30pm!
Anyway, I set off for the little Tesco at 9:4am. It was cloudy but still hot so I didn't wear a mac or coat. I usually set off around 10:00am-10:30am. As I got to the corner where I turn I saw Katie the black cat on her driveway. I said Hello, pusscat, and she started coming towards me meowing. I love that sound!
She didn't come right up to me, so I had to get on the drive a bit to pet her, but at least she's not running away from me like she used to. Then I said, I gotto go now, Katie. See you later. Don't follow me.
So I headed off for the shop, and Katie was a good girl and didn't follow me. There was someone on a ride-on lawnmower mowing the grass opposite the church.
When I got to the shop I raced round as quick as I could. I got the 2 TV magazines, Syd's bounty bar, some chocolate croissants, strawberries and a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich filling in a pot. (Mum has it on her baked potatoes.) I wanted to get my Mum some Alpen cereal with no added sugar, but there was one of those cage things in the way. There was no-one around to ask to move it, so I thought I'd get the two milks first and then come back. But when I came back there was still no-one around, so I pushed the cage aside a bit myself, just so I could get at the Alpen! I grabbed the Alpen and ran!
I payed for the groceries, and then I set off for home. Katie the pussycat was curled up in front of her garage door, so I decided not to disturb her. I said, Good girl Katie, you stay there.
When I got home I gave Mum her change, club card and shopping list. Then I unpacked the groceries and put them away. Then I got a banana, some edamame beans and a packet of mini cheddars for my lunch. I'm going to have an early lunch. I don't know if they'll have anything suitable for me at the wake. That's if we even get to the wake! I don't think Syd knows the way exactly, and he hasn't gone for a drive out to find it before hand! It's supposed to be in a place that has a golf course.
I'm expecting a couple of parcels today too. I got an email yesterday saying one of my parcels was coming today by 3:00pm. It also gave me the opportunity to change my delivery options. So I followed the link and told them that if no-one was in, to leave the parcel in my safe place, which I designated as "At the back of the house, infront of the patio doors." And I thought that was it done. But then this morning got another email saying a parcel was coming today, but they'd need a signature for it, so now when I followed the link the options were Try the neighbours, or collect it, and there was no "other" option. So I said Try the neighbours at No.13. I don't know if this was the same parcel or the other parcel, but I think it was the same parcel, because when I looked on the Amazon app that was the only order that said the "delivery options had been changed."
So, now I'm going to have my early lunch, and then I'll get ready to go to the funeral.
What are you lot getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.
But Mum said, No, I've always said it was 12:30pm!
