Do you cut your burgers in half?

My family didn't cut burgers in half. Why not? Don't know, we just never did. However, my wife's family did. More specifically, her father did. So, one day I had been out there. We, my wife, her mother and I, had gone out to eat. Her father said he wanted a Schlotzsky's sandwich. So, we detoured by the shop and picked him up his sandwich. We came in, Kathy, my wife's mom, put it on a plate, plopped it down in front of his seat. She called him over. He comes over and before he's even unwrapped the sandwich. Even before he's even sat down, he's demanding: "Kathy, cut this in half." Now, I don't remember what she was doing, but she was doing something else. He sits down and does it again. I mean, he's sitting, but he still hasn't unwrapped the sandwich. Now, when Kathy and my wife, Viv, get going I just stay out of the way. So, I'm also sitting at the table. He yells it again, as if he hadn't been heard the first two times. I lean over and tell him: "It is already cut, Joe." He kind of glares at me, then unwraps the sandwich to see it has, indeed, been cut in half all this time. I can understand why Viv broke off contact with her folks. I can. Have you ever seen people like these? What have you done?

I have seen certain people do demand their burgers and sandwiches be cut in half whenever they order. In fact, I recollect one restaurant doing that all the time. I had to explicitly ask them not to do for the items I order. Not sure, the idea behind cutting into halves .Especially for burgers and sandwiches! Coming to people, everyone is unqiue. There are few timid and adamant ones. Well, it becomes unfortunate when such people becomes your near ones in family. Well, just ignore and move on. Life is meant to be shared with family whom you care and who cares for you!

Yeah... My roommate, who I actually met through my wife before she had moved in, said that when she first met him, she thought he was like her father, who was a jerk, but did love her. She later figured out he was just a jerk.

Yeah, and I get it. When she first cut them off, while i would try to ease her to go back, just for little things. When I understood she really was getting her toxic parents out of her life, I let it go. After she passed, I've played nice with her mother. Her father wants people to come visit, but then he just watches TV. I mostly ignore him. Not rudely, just saying that I am busy. Yeah, busy watching YouTubes... but at least I'm not ignoring someone who's come visit...
