I went for a walk, and didn't really note the time. I did it mainly to practice walking with my cane. Yesterday walking to church, I fell on the sidewalk, and I just scraped my knee a bit, but I remember one of the ladies at church who uses a walker saying something like, "Better to use your cane than fall and break a hip!" Sigh. I don't like it, but I guess I'll have to get used to it. Using the cane also makes me slower, which I don't like, but I'm getting older... I'll probably still go rushing out the door without my cane at times, but I really need to get used to using it. I don't want to fall and break a hip...

Once you get used to using it, then it'll get considerably easier and you'll get faster again. And, at least if you feel like you're going to fall, you can toss it and still put your hands out.

I'm sorry you fell! I've been slowing down a lot lately, too. Getting old isn't fun, but it's better than the alternative...

Oh, that’s why you have a cane. Your other post mentioned one. I have one, but I don’t know where it is. I haven’t needed it since my late twenties, but boy did it help when I needed it!

Keep at it and you'll soon find walking with three legs isn't so difficult, and as your church friend intimated, much safer.

That would be terrible to fall and break your hip.
