The kittens are healthy

Today I checked how are they doing. One of them has an eye problem, but it's nothing serious. I cleaned its eye. They are with their mom. She takes good care of them. My dad refused to receive her in the garage for a day and I was upset. So she had her kittens in a shed we have. The shed is near a narrow street, but we have a tall fence. It is a bit noisy there, but she chose that place. And she didn't move them. She likes that place. She never moves her kittens. We want to spay her when the kittens are two months old, but her previous kittens weren't weaned at this age. They started to eat food when they were 3 months old. I wonder if we can spay her if her kittens aren't weaned. She has now 5 kittens and all of them seem healthy. They can see now.

It's not recommended to spay a cat if its kittens aren't weened because the kitens are still relying on the milk.

I will have to convince my mom. She wants to spay their mom when the kittens are 8 weeks old. But I wonder who will feed them if we take their mom to the vet and they don't eat solid food. The last time the cat had kittens and we waited. And she was pregnant again very fast. My mom is afraid that she will have other 5 kittens soon.

@dya80dya Well, kittens can typically eat on their own by then. All you do is add water to the food and make it into like a paste, the kitens will eat it on their own.

@kaylachan I did this with her previous kittens. They refused to eat and their mom ate all their food. I bought them wet food for kittens and I mixed it with water. They preferred milk.

I wish I could wait, but my mom says that she can get pregnant again fast. We don't want other kittens. Finding good homes for them is difficult. But maybe I can convince my mom to wait a little longer. When they are 8 weeks maybe they will eat solid food, but if they won't eat it what can we do with 5 kittens? I read that each kitten is different. Some eat solid food sooner, some later.

Kittens are so cute. Tough about the spaying. So hard to keep them from getting pregnant again when they're not house cats. But the kittens are better off getting mother's milk that extra month.
