Physical wallets have been a cornerstone of personal organization when it comes to carrying cash, cards or identification cards. Leather or fabric, they come in various styles and designs. For some, the wallets also serve as a reflection of their personal style.
Traditional wallets were made from high quality leather and fabric and had a reputation of being more durable. I have seen my dad using the same wallet for over 20 years and there was not a mark of single wear and tear on the wallet.
Modern wallets use synthetic materials and have advanced designs and features. Some, if not all, are made with durable materials. However, most modern wallets do not seem to have the durability than the traditional ones. They have wear and tear and not sure if it has to do with designs or with the materials.
So, what’s your take, do you feel that traditional wallets are more durable than modern ones?

I can see that modern wallets were durable because the materials used were synthetic unlike the traditional wallets that was only made in leather.

I used to hear that vintage leather wallets used to last longer. Perhaps the wear and tear is less for moden synthetic wallets. Thanks for sharing!

I have a traditional wallet made from real leather. Used it for 25 years until the torn portion cannot be sewn. Money keeps falling off

The durable ones and the not so durable ones whether traditional or modern would always be there and it just depends on what you're looking for in a wallet. And if you're someone who easily gets bored with items and prefers to switch things up often, you might not be as concerned about durability. Instead, you’d probably go for cheaper or more affordable options and enjoy having something new from time to time.
