Air Quality After Rains

Rains do improve the quality of air, I've seen. Dust particles settle down and the atmosphere becomes quite clear. It's been raining here for a few days now. But though the rain has stopped a bit now, the air quality still remains good, excellent rather. I'm attaching a screenshot of the weather details here. What's the situation at your place?

At one stage there was the same condition here - it rained for almost 10 days on the trot. So we were like, we were fed up with the constant raining. But the good thing was the pollution had settled down quite considerably. So we got fresh air always as the image shows how good the air quality was.

Indeed too much rain and that too for so many days in continuation can be a challenge.
Delhi had a continuous streak of 10 days plus.
The air quality improved.
I also heard that a big area surrounding Delhi got a lot of water that would help replenish the groundwater in and around Delhi.
I think good drainage system and adequate rainwater harvesting arrangements can help a lot.

Now many Residential Societies are adopting Rainwater harvesting.
I think the Government, at least the Central Govt. policy is to mandate all newly constructed Government Buildings to have it.
Delhi Metro too has it.
Yet Individual houses need to be given incentives to implement these measures.
Apart from this, I think many in our society are habitual of wasting water.
I have seen gardeners over-watering plants and trees.
Many helpers who wash cars use excessive water.
Even I remember an incident when I stayed at a relative's house.
There was a bucket half full. I told them that I just need some hot water to be added and it would be enough for me, as it was slightly cold.
They immediately threw away the whole water and started refilling.
I was not in a situation to argue but well I did not like that they threw away that water.
Sometimes even I feel that I waste water especially in the washrooms but elsewhere I try to save it.
One of the biggest culprit is the "Free water" subsidies.
We could instead have lower water charges for less usage as a state policy.

We’ve had some rain here as well, and it definitely feels like the air is fresher and clearer.

Yes the rains wash down the pollutants and clean the air.
Here we have been having the least pollution in months due to good rains since early August.

That's what we have been feeling here for the last few days. Due to the consistency in the rain, the air quality improved. We reside around the industrial area. So, such fresh air is quite vital to all of us here

Here too the weather has been pleasant. It was sunny today for a long time.
Yet it rained later in the evening.
We have max around 32 C and min around 24 to 25 C.
Things would get warmer but September would also mean some more rains.

Almost same here. It was sunny in the early morning. However, towards noon or was cloudy and finally it rained. It rained in two bursts within an hour or so. We have 25 C at the moment. And it feels great.
Definitely it will get warmer as the month progresses. And then we are in for October heat as well.

Definitely, October would be dryer and hotter although one cannot rule out one or two unexpected rainy days.

It was pretty warm here today; but there is a cold front with heavy rain coming through today into Saturday. Hope you have a good weekend.

Is it raining there? We have had loads and loads of rains. And it's still expected to rain in this month as well. When it rains it starts to get cold, and then it gets colder. It feels a bit better upfront... But then it's a no no

@LindaOHio, Generally, there is coolness in the year after rains. And believe me it's always a pleasant atmosphere post the rains. But the condition is that the rains should not be too heavy. Or you lose the fun

30 minutes of rains is a significant amount of rain, if it rains properly good. And if it's one of the first rains, then there is more heat in the atmosphere instead of coolness, because of the prior heat. But yes, because the dust particles don't settle down sufficiently well, the air quality can hamper.
