It is amazing how traditions in India are thriving by the day. This festival known as 'Ganesh Chathurthi' is being celebrated with fervour and grandier.
Every Hindu household will have this statue in their homes and loads of sweets are prepared. There will be visitors and sweets are shared with neighbours

The festival goes on for 10 days and on the 10th day the statue is immersed in the sea with great fervour It started on September 7 this year.

I totally agree with you. These 10 days are the most vibrant days of all. The "aarti" of Lord Ganesha resounds in the entire atmosphere. And everywhere there is a sense of worship and all. The markets buzz with customers. Many people decorate their houses with various colored light strips. It's all beyond words. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all of you

@allknowing True. That's quite a valid point. It's good to see the current young generation participating in these festivals with the same vigore. This is going to help our future generations. And the tradition that has been continuing for years and years will get a promising future.

It is a Hindu festival and I do not celebrate but I know they make what is called Modak besides other sweets
