Cell phones have evolved, and so does ringtones. From simple tones to customizable sounds, users are able to personalize better their smartphones.
For a long time, I have been assigning different ringtones for my family and friends in my smartphone. It has helped me managed the incoming calls effectively. While I am driving or away from the phone, I do atleast figure out which group has called. It also has helped me prioritize calls especially during busy and emergency times.
Personally, for me, I give a sense of individuality for these individuals in my smartphone.

I have done it for my mom, husband and my daughters. For rest, it's the same ringtone and I can check the caller id to see who is calling.

@RevivedWarrior Yes. And I have the ringtones of songs that I actually identify with that particular person
. It gives a personal touch.

Thats a great idea , Arunima. With ringtones you know dear ones and others can have generic ones. Thanks for sharing!

I think I did that long time back.
And on a basic phone, not the smart one !
Basically, many a times, my phone is on silent mode.
The main work on calls is done by Truecaller these days in identifying a lot of spam calls.
