A driver who made an error of driving around barricades when rain from Hurricane Francine hit the New Orleans region on Wednesday evening that wound up submerged in the Canal Street Underpass that could have ended in tragedy. Miles Crawford who was in the area did his part to rescue the driver of the truck that was submerged by going to his home to get an object to break the window of the truck that was underwater and rescue the driver. Miles was watching the events of the storm inside of his home when he saw a police officer who tried to prevent the truck driver from entering the danger zone get knocked over decided to rescue the driver since Miles is employed as an Emergency Room nurse. Miles admitted that he acted on his training to save a life of a stranger who likely will be in huge trouble for nearly harming a police officer who was trying to prevent the driver from getting hurt. I'm glad the driver was rescued. Maybe they won't go around barricades or drive through high water again.

I hope so as well since law enforcement as well as the weather personalities have begged viewers never to drive an auto into flooded streets.

Thankful the driver was able to get help. Hopefully he'll learn the next time not to go around barricades or ignore an officers warning.
