Do we make use of any subject learning from school times in our daily life?

Recently, an interesting topic was mentioned in a standup comedy I attended. Many subjects were taught to us while we were in school - Maths, Science, Language and Physical Education. Do make use of any subject learning from school times in our daily life? In Schools, we do learn our big and small steps in life. We learn how to be social and improve our skills especially decision making. I am all for school education. However, are we making use of the subjects we learnt in some part of our life. I am not sure how many of us use algebra or trigonometry in our daily lives. Grammar and chemical reactions have not touched my mind or life, post school times. Are there any thing that we learnt from school subjects that could be made use of today?

I used english and math everytime I taken work entrance exam, and right grammar for interviews Lol! But yes, it is important that we know how to calculate and use grammar because that was the initial requirements before you can proceed to the next work application. other than that I can use my basic culinary back in high school because I love baking sometimes, I am able to use how to mix properly some cake mixture to ensure that it will come together when we bake it, and sewing, and cooking, and of course how to use the computer, and because I know a lot from school, I was able to do business online, etc. So yes, I can use most but not all I guess... most of the things we have learned in school. have a great day.

Yes, all the time, without even realising mostly. Maths I use daily (OK I don't use calculus very often but basic maths all the time). English is how I make my living, along with biological sciences. Other languages I use some of the time, wish I was better at them. History is very important to an understanding of the world, unfortunately it just isn't possible to learn about all of it. Geography often comes up, when we read about events such as flooding, coastal erosion etc, when we visit a new place and see the rocks e.g. at the seaside, when we need to understand why there are certain resources in certain places... chemistry and biology and physics are important to explain so many things, I don't even know where to begin, but every time I need to explain something I am using sciences, from why leaves change colour in autumn to what happens when you eat food, why an aeroplane flies, how computers work.... just everything! What else was there... needlework I use very very often, cookery daily (although a lot I didn't learn in school, but I guess it all helps) woodwork and metalwork I still use now and then. Physical education is probably the least useful - I haven't played tennis or done any gymnastics since I left school - but I expect those things helped with balance and coordination which we don't even realise are important until it's too late! So what do you do for a living?
