Well...

Photo I took of the paper I was given by the doctor

I described my pain to the doctor, and after some other things she said I likely have something called Costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the cartilage joining my ribs to my breastbone. It's caused by illnesses where you cough or sneeze a lot, a blow to the chest, lifting a heavy object, intense exercise, or by stress. If I were to pick one of those, it's likely the last one. I should take acetaminophen, ibuprofen or naproxen for the pain. The doctor said it could be something else, but what she said about this Costo-whatsis sounded very much like the symptoms I have. I told a friend via text about it, and, like she usually does, she looked it up on her phone. What she read said something about pain in the left shoulder, too, which I have also had. So, yeah, I'm guessing it's this Costochondritis. Right now, I'm going to go and check the mail, and I'm just going to just go there and come back, as I've had a bit more than my hour of walking today. Hope all is well with you in your part of myLot land!

At least you have now idea of why you have pain. You should not lift heavy things

That’s great to know, Stacey! It’s such a reasonable explanation, and is much more fitting than that other lady’s silly insistence of indigestion.

Actually, two different doctors prescribed me antacids. I'm glad that this one knew what she was doing.

Would reducing your exercise lessen your pain? I am prone to cold but regular yoga and some cold resistant food is keeping me away from it.
