India lost to New Zealand but has huge opportunity against Australia

November 6, 2024 3:09am CST
India lost to New Zealand 3 -0 in the test series. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had problematic form in batting. But in the upcoming test series cricket in Australia India has good scope. India will play 5 tests in Australia. The bouncy wickets of Australian pitches like Perth suit Virat Kohli a lot. If India plays to their potential they will give good challenge to Australia with bowlers like Bumrah and Siraj.

Im bemused how you lost 3-0 at home.. Surely three spinning decks would have favored India.

thanks Winterishere it is in last 22 years it has happened once. India has gone to the finals of test championships twice . India won the t20 world cup this year. India went to finals of the one day competition also. It is a rare case Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not perform, once they return to form they will take India to great heights

The worst part was the lack of intent by many players. Even Sarfaraz Khan was out of sorts after a few matches. Now we realise the value of Pujara !! A very tough Aussie series ahead !!

@sathviksouvik Yes, if one negotiates early pace, Aussie pitches are better as there is almost no swing there. The Sydney track is a bit helpful for the spinners as well.

@sathviksouvik Normally Mumbai wicket has early bounce. And late spin. They tried to alter its nature to make it more turning. Yet the move backfired. Pitch making is like an art. I think the basic nature of a pitch should not be altered first. Let us see how the Aussie tour goes. Even India A is struggling against the Aussies.
