Not sure what to do about a Christmas present

Since, Amber came up with the brilliant idea of adult Advent calendars I picked out one as a bday present for sis, and looked at many different possibilities for my mother. She needs things to look forward to, so I really like that idea for her as well; I think the one she would really like the best is one that has jewelry everyday leading to Christmas. However, she rarely has opportunities to go out anymore as my dad doesn't like going anywhere..and she doesn't drive too far out of her own environment. Walmart is the most exciting place she goes. I am not sure where she would wear jewelry really, but maybe having some new stuff would inspire her. I mean she would like an advent chocolate one I think..but there is so much of that around at the holidays..and she doesn't need extra. What do you guys think?

I wonder if any of them have white chocolate. If she likes white chocolate, and she might not, it is different than the regular chocolate everywhere this time of you. Then again, maybe you don’t want any chocolate, which I understand. And, obviously, you would know better than me, but my late Nana went nowhere but Walmart and the Dollar Tree, but she still put on jewelry. That just may be my Nana though. I remember my aunt went to visit her one day and asked where she was going. She wasn’t going anywhere, she just liked to look good. Or, heated slippers?

I am sure my mom is more than a bit depressed, but probably not like she will be if my dad passes away first which is highly likely. I don't think she would wear jewelry to go to Walmart. She will wear it probably for Thanksgiving at sis's house, as it is something she will want to look nice for. White chocolate, dark chocolate..although made differently still has lots of calories. The jewelry calendar is believe it or not, less than some of the chocolate ones. I would probably give her a tea one, but she isn't much on tea really. She is a coffee person.

@snowy22315 Yeah, I understand. Amazon does have a coffee advent calendar. Are heated slippers no good? I tested some that had the heat at the top, but they somehow reached the sole of the foot too. They were pricy on Amazon, but maybe other places have less expensive.

@AmbiePam They would be good I think, but I really like the advent calendar idea. They had some neat ones with crystals, but once you look at them, what are you going to do with them really? They would just take up space.

If you could find a calendar with jams in it, she may like that. I would love that myself. Various fruit jams that come into season over the course of the year would be so nice.

It's a thought and would be enjoyed. I have a limited amount of cash to spend though. I think the jelly or jam ones might be a bit more.

@snowy22315 You are probably right unless you can find a really small shop that does them up. We have an Italian bakery/deli in our area that does up fantastic gift baskets, all well over $100, but all full of lots of goodies. I am considering getting one for our son and daughter-in-law, they are impossible to buy for.

@Juliaacv What about a lawn ornament? That is what I am getting for sis and bro in law. The gift basket would be good too. They even had an Advent calendar full of Christmas socks. I liked that, but then you have to store them all til the next year..

A jewelry Advent calendar - very cool! Many folks like to "accessorize" everyday even at home. It'd be fun to receive a new piece of jewelry each day !

Speaking Christmas present, I have not started to buy them. I am sure it would be the last minute for me to do.

It is 25 days of different kinds of jewlery and has 5 stars. Actually, whether she needs it or not, I think she might be delighted with it.

I think the chocolate is a better choice. I have a lot of jewelry that I don't wear; and I don't want anymore. Have a good week.

I just ordered the jewelry. She loves jewelry. It will make her happy. I guess she could go out to lunch by herself to wear it. I am not sure if she ever does that.
