Because for some reason the US has been tagged as some "super power" and we tend to think we have to be the heros who save nations. I alot depends on who is in the office of President at the time and personally the one we have now needs to be out. I personally think that if another countries leaders come to us and ask for help them we should help especially if we have the tools to help them. But if we are not asked then we need to mind our own business and let other country's handle there own affairs.

Unfortunately, the president and administration we have now is not interested in helping real causes in other countries. They are only interested in getting involved in situations that will benefit their personal pockets in the long run--and that is scarey. We use to be a nation that was looked up to for our leadership abilities, and now we are not. This administration has made our country look arrogant. Sometimes helping other countries is indeed in the best interest of our own, but the fiasco taking place now--is not in our best interest. Like, we should be involved in humanitarian interests, and assisting nations to become stable and self-sufficient, because in the end the world benefits from that. However, today we have an administration with tunnel-vision and is unrealistically pursuing a situation that we had no business pursuing.
