Blood Pressure Monitor

I very enthusiastically got for myself a Blood Pressure Monitor and thought the readings that I obtained were the right ones. One fine day the monitor went haywire and started to play up. I was told that it has all to do with the batteries and their life. What confused me was that while the monitor worked why should it not show me the right readings. I have a camera and if the batteries need recharging the camera just does not work I have stopped using the monitor now

I have bought an adaptor for our BP monitor. The doctor advised us not to use the battery mode as it is inaccurate at times

The manufacturers should actually suggest that and not a doctor

@allknowing well, the manufacturer is for business. They make this battery-operated BP apparatus to make a profit—the doctor profits from the patients. I bought mine because it is portable but after a lot of changing the battery and asking the doctor, his advice was to buy an adaptor for an efficient monitoring

the ones sold for hospitals are very different they seem to have a voltage stabilizer so the accuracy is almost 100%, the comparison is for housing it is tens of numbers lower.

It might be ok if you replace the battery. Ours works ok when we got new batteries for it.

But how is one to know that it is the batteries that are the culprits when the monitor works?

I believe that manual blood pressure monitors are more reliable than battery-operated ones.

Thats a shame. They are no good if not reliable. The one I have here is pretty good.

No two readings are the same. It gives me some consolation to surmise they are faulty!

When that happens it is better not to use such devices.
