Saturday Fun Day!

We had another fun day planned for today! I actually had a vendor event on the books that was being held at a rescue place for animals. However, it was cold this morning since we had our first freeze last night. I had already told my husband that I would not be doing the even if it was cold. It was an outdoor event. They were also raffling off a shotgun for deer season and my husband really wanted a ticket. I had already told the owner of the rescue that if I didn't come to event I wanted a raffle ticket and that I would send the money via Paypal. Two days ago, the rescue took in another little of adorable puppies, the photo I have posted here. The one on the end smiling was just too cute. All of the puppies in that litter were cute. So I mentioned to my husband that we should just ride over there on Saturday even if I don't do vendor event and check the place out. And you can get your raffle ticket! Before he gave his answer, I sweetened the pot by suggesting we stop and have lunch at the seafood place that we discovered on the 13 mile long yard sale. That did it and I got a YES! So this morning after dropping off the product at the boutique for a customer, we headed to the rescue place. It is located a good hour away from our little town. It was a good thing we made plans to do something because our electricity went out right before we left! I was surprised to see as many vendors set up there. There was at least 10 vendors...or crazy people setting up in the cold and biting wind. We enjoyed walking around and seeing what everyone had, bough our raffle ticket and walked around the outside and visited each dog. Then we went inside to visit the dogs and cats inside. Man does she have a lot of rescues there! The litter of five puppies posted the other day was down to only 2 left! I'm glad they found good homes. Most of the dogs were adult dogs. Some were abused. Most had some pit bull in them which was interesting being out in the country. We left and headed to the seafood place, only to find it closed. My husband wanted to go to another seafood place, but it was an hour away. I didn't want to drive that far. We ended up about 30 minutes away at Lee's Diner, which is a 50's style diner. I had heard good things about it and we were not disappointed! We got a text message a few minutes after leaving with the winning raffle number. Was it ours? NO! That's okay though, it was for a good cause! Photo Credit: Crooked Creek Kennels

Yes, very good! So many homeless dogs in this area. It's sad.

I would have had to bring home a dog. No pit bulls though. Have a good day.
