River Ichamati in the east divided the 2 countries India and Bangladesh. If anyone travels in a steamer across river Ichamati which merged into Bay of Bengal he or she will find the topography of the countries different. There is river traffic police and BSF who guard the border lands.

So people are free to go to these two countries by just crossing the river, or is there any Customs procedure they have to go through?

thanks Cheung people are not allowed to go to the other country. There is a separate border called Benopol and Petropol where Visa and Passports are checked. The river waters are shared by the people of the two country
