Why is it so difficult to get a non-alcoholic drink at a wedding

Sometimes the most popular part of a wedding seems to be the bar and alcohol. There's very little choice for those of us who don't drink alcohol. We had sprite or coke and some fruit juice from the supermarket - nothing freshly squeezed. The bartender was kind to us after the dinner and made us a cocktail that was non alcoholic and delicious. Had a great time and didn't have to nurse a hangover.
