We all remember the Tiger King craziness from a few years back, right? If not, you should! It was EVERYWHERE for months. Here’s a quick rundown: - Joe Exotic had a zoo with a bunch of exotic animals. - He got into some seriously shady stuff. - Made some people really angry. - Did something illegal with tigers. - Hired someone to whack another crazy tiger owner. - Lived a wild life with drugs and a lot of marriages to guys—though the news loved to focus on that part. - Got arrested not far from me. - Now he’s serving a sentence of twenty to twenty-five years. Now that the Joe Exotic hype has faded a bit, there’s a new animal obsession on the scene. This time it’s a woman named Tonia Haddix from Missouri, who’s completely obsessed with monkeys. Her daughter and her oldest monkey grew up together, and just ten minutes into the first episode of her show, Chimp Crazy, we found out she treated her chimp like her kid—even breastfeeding both of them at the same time! It definitely has all the signs of a wild show! We’ve been talking about this for a couple months and finally decided to check it out. We’re about ten minutes into Chimp Crazy on Max, and I honestly don’t expect much normal stuff from it. I’ll keep you posted after we watch a few more episodes.
