...to other professions? My point of view is that they are getting more than they deserve. They are getting instant fame and wealth that I don't think is fair. A lot of working professionals are working their butt hard just to earn a meager wage. And they are not even recognized by the public such as teachers. These people play a major role in society and yet they are not treated very well. What do you think?

You have right about teachers. They should earn much more for their work. And so librarians, like me, by the way. Sometimes at work I'm feeling like a walking encyclopedia, when I have to answer endless questions about various subjects. As for fame, I wouldn't like to be famous at all. Look at the movie stars or pop artists, they can't even sneeze without to be mentioned somewhere. As for sport celebrities... I'm a citizen of a small country, occupied by soviets for ca 50 years. We need some good PR, and if our sportsmen/women are winning competitions, and blue-black-white flag appears on TV it is a good PR, I mean. For example our sumo wrestler Baruto (his real name is Kaido Höövelson) makes more for to introduce Estonia in Japan than 50 polititians or diplomates could do. So I'm offering you a compromise: let's say, it depends on a situation.

Well, with the way you put it, you have a point with regards to your sports celebrities. They are getting what they deserve because they are contributing more for your country.

yes. I don't think they deserve to make millions of dollars. There's professional such as firefighters who risk their lives everyday and they don't make no where near what sport players make.
