We will soon harvest our turmeric

We planted some turmeric rhizomes this year. We actually bought them as the gardener misplaced the stock we had reserved for replanting The plants grew well and they are now ready for harvesting We have to stop watering them atleast for a month before we dig out the rhizomes. We will remmeber to keep aside som rhizomes for replanting It normally takes about a year for the turmeric to be ready. Then there is the process of getting it powdered We first have to wash the turmeric, boil it, slice it, dry it in the sun and then powder it

It's interesting to us to see plants (spices) like that growing in the garden. Can you also use turmeric fresh, like ginger?
