In the east bottlegourd and potato plantations are planted side by side. Bottlegourd is called lau in bengali called lauki in hindi. Potatoes are called aloo in bengali and hindi. Both are very good vegetables.

I'm not sure if I have Bottle gourd before. Does it taste different from gourd?
