Good morning, friends. As many of you know, there is a flood in part of Australia, the very same place where Dixie´s son lives with his family. Ruthie has been sending us updates and those include Sombra their wonderful dog. Sombra was born in Ecuador where they then lived and Ruthie saw that a lady was leaving the puppy in a square. She took her home and they raised her. Then they came to Chile for a couple of years and Sombra lived first at my house. Then Luna arrived and Humberto took her to their apartment. He had fallen in love with her. When they moved to Australia (Ruthie is Australian) it was very difficult for Sombra to travel. Dixie helped of course but everything was expensive. Ruthie had to recurr to "Go Fund Me". Sombra finally went and was trained as a dog for the elderly. She even has a paper that estates that she passed the exams. She works at the local hospital and has been doing so for several years. She still does although she is now old and has arthritis. She has more than paid her Australian passport is they give that to dogs. Ruthie just wrote that with the floods Sombra had more pain in her limbs. I don´t know what they will do then her life comes to an end. Sombra and Misty (my first dog) have been the most intelligent dogs I´ve seen. Misty was never my pet. She was my friend and companion when my grandson died of cancer. But for the moment, even though our Aussies are living in a sort of island, they are all well, includieng Sombra. See you later now. I must get ready for my outing with Dixie.
