We didn't exactly go to the beach...

Bell tower I took a photo of

My friend came and got me around one p.m., and while we went toward the coast, we went to a tree that my friend had been talking about that was a memorial for a little boy. The story is that the little boy (age 7) and his family were vacationing in Italy when they got caught in the crossfire of a gang war and the little boy was shot in the head. (I hope this is okay to do--if you look up/Google "Nicholas Green" you should find the whole story). There is a bell tower called "The Children's Bell Tower" (pictured--you could probably look that up, too)-- as well as a large tree where people have put numerous mementos to their own loved ones--my friend, who has trouble walking without a walker, parked near the tree and said I could go out and take photos--and to take my time. Further up the trail past the tree is the bell tower. Last Wednesday after Bible study my friend was sitting talking about this place, and I said I'd never heard about it, so she asked if I'd like to go see it. I said I would, and we made plans for today. I tried to take photos of everything that had been put in/by the tree--I took about 56 photos. Now the trouble is getting them all from my phone to my computer! I'll do it all one day. After I came back down the trail from taking photos, my friend and I stopped at a place where they sell salt water taffy. My friend gave me money and told me to get two five pound bags. Well, the girl in there said, after I asked her how to find the five dollar bags, "All the bags are marked with a price." Uh-huh. Then a whole family came in behind me and people could barely move, much less stand and look through all the price tags. So, I picked out some bags and tried not to spend all of the money my friend gave me, and got out of there. She said it was okay and divided them up between us. After that we went to a little hot dog place to get corn dogs and fries for the two of us. We went out to the car and ate those. Again I went in to get things, and my friend had told me to get little packets of castup and mustard. I got to the car and realized I'd forgotten those, but when I went back in I saw there was only big containers with pumps with catsup and mustard in them, and of course there were two people standing right in front of them. The area is a tourist trap, so no wonder it was crowded. Anyway, I went out and told my friend, and she said it was okay. After we sat in the car and ate we came home. Now I am full, and I know it's going to take quite a long time to get all of these photos off of my phone and onto Instagram. I hope that all is well with you in your part of myLot land!
