I consider it as one of my milestones in life, to visit the USA. I always considered it as something that must be realised before I depart from this world. In November 2003 my second eldest son departed for the USA on a business mission. Not realising that he would later decide to make the USA his home.
Today he has permanent residence in the USA, has a permanent position and also qualifies for citizenship in 2007. It was always his dream to one day be resident in the US. Now that his dream has come true, I have all the more reason to go and visit this great country.
Amidst all the trauma of 9/11 and the current security situation I still consider visiting and staying at least long enough to visit at least some of the great places I have always read about so much, and only seen on TV. The one landmark that I always wished to see and visit in person, were the Twin towers of the World Trade Centre in NY. But now that it’s no longer adorning the NY skyline I will have to choose another “monument”

Empire state blg. is one of them and I wish to also see the Washington State, the White House. I will end up in Seattle WA and stay there with family. The cost factor is of course to be considered. South African currency "Rand" is not so strong, now about R7.15c to US$. So visiting other states will be a bonus. So for us it will be very costly. For Americans to visit RSA is a Picnic, because its much cheaper from that side.
