The rupee has depreciated 19 paises and is now standing at USD85.15 today - on Wednesday. The main reason for this is suspected to be the geopolitical tensions with the neighboring country. Wars and similar conditions are of no use to anyone and the entire finance of any country can be feared to be put on the line.

I think the whole world is in an uproar; and the US is having difficulty with Trump as the President.

There is no doubt that the entire world and the economy of the world as a whole is in a big tormoil these days. And as far as you are saying that the US President is facing difficulty as the President, I must say the entire world is facing difficulty because that man is holding that post. His decisions are impacting the finance and such levels of the other countries in the world. Even we are facing difficulties here for no reason. It sometimes looks like he shouldn't have been elected.

You mean 1 USD is equals to 85.15 Indian Rupee? It means that the Indian Rupee is going strong against the Dollar.

No no. It's actually weak. The Indian Rupee is weakening. You need to count 85 Rupees then that's equal to 1 USD. I remember, as a kid, I read 40 Indian Rupees was equal to 1 USD. So it has almost fallen twice.
In short, the more our currency compared to any other currency, and is more than that other value, it means our own currency is weak.

@abhi_bangal Okay, thank you for clarifying. I was looking at the month's chart. Same with Philippine Peso, when I started working online in 2010, I think the value was 45 per USD but now it is 57 per USD.

@ARIES1973 Warm welcome
So that's that. In 15 years the Peso has gone down by 12. So it actually has weakened. But if you compare Peso to INR, the rate as of today is 1 Peso = 1.51 INR. This means the the Rupee isn't as weak compared to Peso as it is to USD.

Yes. These days we all are so interconnected that it's not easy to keep ourselves aloof. Anything that happens somewhere else impacts almost all of us in one way or the other.
