Do Your Friends Ever Get On Your Nerves?

My best friend (who doesn't get on my nerves) and I play cards with two other girls every Thursday. They are L & G. L is okay enough but after six years she's really starting to get on my nerves with her quirks and habits. She says everything she's thinking out loud. I mean literally everything. "I think I'll pick up my fork." "I see a bird out the window." "I'm going to take a drink of water." And I know this is snobby, but she's not as smart as me and my best friend. She doesn't "get" things. She thinks Africa is a country. G is L's sister-in-law. She at first seemed down to earth but now comes off as a little bit redneck. She thinks she's right about everything. Not necessarily in an obnoxious showy way, but still she often says things that are wrong thinking she's right. But people have their idiosyncracies. I have mine for sure. I'm thinking maybe once a month or once every other week would be better than weekly. I'm sure I'm overthinking it.

Yeah, if you don't enjoy it that much good to cut down. I stopped going to a group because it was starting to feel more like work going instead of fun.

Not really their personalities, but their decisions. One of my friends has her student loan in default, a lien on her house, and she just opened an account with one of those buy now pay later accounts. Yet she keeps taking in animals, and won’t say no. At some point you have to get real with yourself, and get your priorities straight.

What’s that saying…”friendship is knowing everything bad about someone and loving them anyway.”

Some friends are hard to tolerate, but it takes all sorts!
