Almost right after I finished the previous post, my broker called. She talked about this stock and that stock and should she do this with my portfolio or leave it the way it was... I hadn't the faintest clue what she was talking about--and of course it didn't help that my allergies are acting up because of the wind. My responses to her questions were pretty much; "Yeah" "Uh-huh" "Okay". How do you feel if you're talking to someone about a subject you have absolutely no clue about?

I feel like a fish out of water speaking to my insurance agent talking to the agent about my health insurance.

I just say sorry but I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. It's the best way, they usually stop as it's too much work trying to explain stuff to me

You need an explanation that you can understand, otherwise you are making or letting a decision go without knowing what you are actually doing.

I flat out tell them I have no idea what they are saying, and could they put that in simpler terms. However, that wouldn’t exactly help with a broker, I imagine.

I regard it as a generation gap since I don't know about it. So I will try to finish this kind of conversation soon and not to waste the time.

Yes, there are times when it is hard to respond when you aren't sure exactly what they are talking about.
