Goodbyes are hard in the morning

This was a total stranger, but had already left us. This pretty butterfly had probably been injured overnight and was no more. It still looked pretty lying inside the grass. I put it up on the gate to experience the warmth of the sun and left. Not a great start to yesterday morning.
