Say Sure but Do What You Want

I was about ten years old when I told my cousin not to argue with his mother.
"When she tells you to do something say 'sure' but do exactly what you want."
Unfortunately I was overheard and it didn't go well for me.
However, since then I have followed my own advice and seen others do the same.
Whether at school, at work, at home, anywhere... you don't debate, you don't confront, you just do what you want.
In this way, your 'boss' goes away and peace reigns.
I don't know why Putin invaded Ukraine. It was and is a stupid waste of lives, of resources, and makes him look evil. However, I know why Putin pretends to agree with Trump then does exactly what he wants.

I somewhat agree with you, doing your way instead of following other advise somewhat helps you as they don't have upper hand takes away credit also.
