We were alarmed early morning of May 13, 2025 when the active mCanlaon Volcano showed moderately explosive eruption.  The said eruption lasted for five minutes, spewing a grayish voluminous plume that rose about 4.5 kilometers above the vent and drifted southwest.  The people of Canlaon City and La Castellana heard a rumbling sounds. In our city of La Carlota, almost 14 barangays experienced ashfall. Roads and rooftops were covered with ashfall. Image: Philvocs

Sounds like a really massive explosion! Were the Houses and People evacuated? It would take a lot of time for the Ashes to be removed from the various houses. Have a nice Sunday ahead.

The people who live near or within the affected area were evacuated. Fire trucks coming from nearby towns and cities helped washing away thick ashfsll on the road. Facemasks were distributed and gallons of mineral water rationed to the people. A heavy downpour washed away ashfall on everyone's rooftop

@Nakitakona The only plus is that the surrounding soil becomes more fertile after some years. Yet that is beneficial when people are living near that place for cultivation.

You're right. Fire trucks from nearby towns and cities help cleaning the roads civered by thick ashfall.
