We have to be kind to myself especially on those days when we didn't have internet. My head wanted to crack on those days without internet. So, to please myself and divert my depressed mood, I wrote a short story and here, I a m going to share it with you. Hoping you like my short story.
Short story: Longing For Love
Longing for love
She can feel her heart jump up and down like she felt long ago and far away. It seemed like yesterday when she heard a creaking sound behind the time of her waking. That was an agonizing ordeal she faced in the past. Her love came so suddenly, just to say goodbye without explaining the reasons why he left her so suddenly. That moment robbed and ripped her chances of happiness. Her journey towards the rising hope disappeared like smoke. At this very moment, the intense feeling of pain resurrected when she heard the same creaking sound of their old bamboo stairs. The cold wind whipped her body to move fast now in aghast.
She is now near the door, and while reminiscing, she stoops when someone calls her name. “Sandra, open the door. “It was the voice of her brother, Sans. “Yes, she said.” “Why does it take you so long to open?” She never answered but immediately proceeded to her bed.

If we don't stop looking for ways to overcome the day's challenges, you will miss a chance to do different things that you are also good at. I am happy for you.

@luisadnnointed that's true my friend. We can do something impossible in the absence of Internet. Our minds work without interruptions.

Thank you so much for sharing your short story, Longing for Love—and I’m really glad you found a way to channel your feelings during those frustrating, no-internet days. It’s not easy when we feel cut off and our minds start racing, so turning to creativity like this is a powerful and healthy way to cope.
Your story beautifully captures that haunting pull of a memory that never truly fades. Sandra’s emotional world feels raw and real—the way her past resurfaces with something as simple as a familiar creaking sound is deeply relatable. I could feel the weight of her heartache and the sudden shift back to reality with her brother’s voice—like how life continues even when we’re lost in our thoughts.
You have a gentle, poetic style that leaves room for emotion to breathe. It’s tender, sad, and reflective. I hope you keep writing more stories like this—your voice has something special.

@rsa101, thank you, my friend, Indeed, it was so frustrating days without internet. We can buy water because t that time , water was not also available, but internet, no. My pocket Wi fi , and Globe Home Plus did not work too. As if, we were tortured. I was at peace when I decided to write poems and short stories. I was not anymore feeling depressed. I was thrilled. I used to write short and long stories. I am happy that you like my short story. Thank you so much . I posted here two short stories he he.
