Do You Feel Like People Are Less Friendly These Days?

I remember back home, people would just start talking to you at the bus stop or in a grocery line. It felt normal to have small chats with strangers, even if just for a few seconds. But here in Canada—or maybe just in big cities—I feel like everyone keeps to themselves. Most people are polite, yes, but also very reserved. Eye contact is rare. Smiles are minimal. It’s like everyone is in their own bubble, usually looking at their phones or rushing somewhere. Do you feel the same way where you live? Do you think people are becoming less social and more distant these days? Is it just part of modern life, or is something missing from our sense of community?

It's the same here People do seem to be becoming less social and keep themselves to themselves more and more I think it is just modern life. We noticed it first after the pandemic and to be honest I am quite happy about it as we like our own company and don't really get interested in what others are doing Sense of community seems to be a bit of a thing of the past here , it may be different in different places and different cultures

Totally, the pandemic shifted so much in how we connect with others. I can see why some prefer the quiet, though. It’s definitely a different vibe depending on where you are.

@Raj7779 The quiet life is great. We had our busy life for a long time and it was awesome. I always knew we would evolve this way. And glad we did

@Ineeddentures For me it's a big change because i was in a university when the pandemic happened so you know we were always surrounded by friends and talking all the time.

i noticed it too but times are tough and dangerous and it's not surprising but it's sad.
