I Lost a Close Friend and Still Don’t Know Why — Has This Ever Happened to You?

I’ve been meaning to talk about this because it’s been on my mind a lot lately. A couple of years ago, I had a friend — someone I thought I’d know forever. We used to talk every day, hang out all the time, share everything. It felt like one of those friendships that would never break. But then, out of nowhere, things changed. She started replying less, canceled plans more often, and eventually, stopped answering messages altogether. I never got an explanation or a fight. It just... faded. I kept wondering: Did I do something wrong? Was she going through something? Or did she just drift away like some people do? I even tried reaching out a few times, but it felt like she didn’t want to reconnect. It hurt more than I expected because I never got closure. Has anyone else been through something like this? How did you deal with losing a friend without knowing why? Did you ever get an answer or just accepted it and moved on? Do you think some friendships are just meant to be temporary, even if they feel permanent at the time? Honestly, it’s still a little painful to think about, but I’m curious to hear your stories. Maybe we can all learn how to heal or understand better.

I think you need to talk with her. Talking with her is the only way you will get answers to your questions. I haven't been through anything like this But if I did I would simply write it off as a bad experience and move on. But if you do talk to her she may tell you stuff that you don't want to hear. Something's are maybe best left well alone.

Nope I have not had an experience like that. Just sometimes a friendship didn't work and we both moved on,

It has happened to me. I wrote a song about it. The moth dying in the wax is a metaphor for a friendship dying. Enjoy. Relate.
