Life would be so much easier if conversations were like those on television shows where the actors just say what they think or mean.
If somebody doesn't like you, shouldn't they just tell you? Wouldn't you rather know they don't like you than listen to their subtle barbs and fake sweetness?
Psychologists made a list of some of the things people say when whey subtly don't like you.
"No offense, but . . ." Of course there's going to be offense if you start out a statement this way. Have you ever said this to someone? Did you like them?
"Don't take this the wrong way . . ." Same as "no offense, but . . ."
"Why do you always…?” Using the word "always" is judgmental. Theyu've already decided you're wrong.
“I’m just being honest,” is most often said right after they’ve said something harsh or offensive.
“You’re too sensitive.” Can't I have reactions or emotions? Shutting down sensitivities is denying their humanness.
“Whatever, it’s fine.” That's usually a signal that they've just hung up on you.
It's an emotional shutdown
“Are you still talking about that?” They are signaling annoyance and condescension.
I would imagine you've heard all of these before. I have.

You know when I think of these things then I think perhaps at this time it is not bad that I am all alone, I might just choose to get one of those grumpy cats so that every day when I look at his face I can laugh,

I haven't encountered such words from colleagues. I don't know if they don't like me because I don't usually go with the group. I have few friends. I am a silent type and I only talk when needed. I heard from a friend what they say about me but I don't give it too much attention. I know that I cannot control what other people think or say about me but I can control how to react.

I got a no offense from a friend the other day, and I braced myself for something rude. All she did was tell me the side effects of a medication I was about to try that I was hoping would help me. I was like, for that you said, no offense? You had me worried!
I’m just an honest person….oh boy. No one has ever said to to me, but I read someone on Mylot defending themselves for using that.

@looeyville Goodness, I never knew so many people disliked me! I have a lot of reassessing to do.

I hear those a lot from cousin #2. She says she loves me; but maybe she doesn't like me. Sigh.

Lol
It's quite funny really because I probably should soften the blow sometimes by maybe even saying " no offense"
Instead of the your too sensitive one I might say " grow a thicker skin"
Aye..lol
