Just like many of my countrymen, I love to sing. However, my voice is ordinary, no matter how hard I practice. I can carry a tune, but that's it.
Almost all families have some sort of karaoke in their homes, and people sing during birthdays or special occasions.
I imagined myself singing before a crowd of adoring fans (a pipe dream, of course). I know this won't happen in this lifetime.
Nevertheless, there was one time, I almost felt like a celebrity when the faculty members of our university were required to perform in a school program.
two colleague-friends and I agreed to sing "Westlife's "I'm Flying without Wings."
The other two were really singers. They sang often during programs, but it was my first time.
The day came. My palms were clammy, and I almost forgot the lyrics. I took deep breaths and ensured myself that my students wouldn't dare laugh at me.
And yes, they were cheering and applauding as one by one of us sang and our voices blended at the end.
I was on cloud 9!
My dream was fulfilled of singing before a live audience.
I know it will never happen again, though.
Have you had any similar experiences in your life?

A one time performance always turns out to be the best as in your case Congratulation.

I always wanted to be a singer; but I have a horrible voice.
