(I have a lot of posts that are titled that way...) I found out that my apartment complex is going to do a "Bulk internet" thing with Xfinity for the complex, and if I wanted to opt out and I already had Xfinity (which I did) I had to send my Xfinity equipment back. I could not pay the amount that they expected me to per month, so I asked my tech-savvy neighbor about it, and he went with me to the office to talk with the head office person, and she told us that it was a "done deal"--that they had to do the bulk internet thing. I was not happy with that, because I was on a low-income program. (There was some calling of Xfinity in there, where the guy told me I could "just ignore" what my apartment complex was doing and stay on my low income rate, but that didn't seem right) After we talked to the lady in the office, he went back with me to his apartment and helped me sign up for another internet provider (in this case, AT&T). They are sending their equipment on the 19th, and my neighbor said that he would help me set it up. AT&T's low income program is a little more money than Xfinity's low income program, but it's still less than $65 a month, which I would be paying if I went with the bulk internet thing the apartment complex is doing. Now I just need to "opt out" of the bulk internet thing (which I was told I could do if I did not want it) and return my Xfinity equipment. I am so thankful that the young man upstairs did most of the talking to the people on the phone, because my brain was totally fried by all of this. (insert "fried/exploding brain emoticon here) Now, I need to go and check the mail. I hope that all is well with you in your part of myLot land!

I'm glad he helped you get it all figured out and settled. They shouldn't be allowed to force any internet company on you. It is a deal with the apartment complex, but they can't make you sign and pay for it. They made the deal, let them pay for it.

I don’t like how they seem to have gone about that.
