In Bundi in Rajasthan step wells were created for supply of water

Rajasthan is one of the driest state in India as it is adjacent to desert. In the older days step wells were dug deep into the earth. Stairs are created to climb down and fetch the water. Later canals were created and irrigation done. Bundi is one of the places where the step wells or bowri are still seen.
