Rui or rohu is one of the popular carps in bengal. As river fishes they are very popular. There is a fish called American rui. It looks similar to the rui found in bengal but it is more red in colour and have more shoulder pieces. It tastes good. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mmqxG9NS9oE

In America we consider that a trash fish. Too bony with a muddy taste.
