The greatest question of all is whether our experience on this planet is 'it' or whether there is something else. Things in the supernatural realm give support, strangely perhaps, to the things we take on faith. ----------Art Bell It's Father's Day here in the Neon Fun Jungle, Radio Rangers! At times like this, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be a dad. Then I have another beer, and the unwelcome feeling goes away. That system has worked well thus far. But what if it someday stops working? What then? Should that occur, I have been halfway blessed in a way by having been shown how not to do it and, conversely, how to do it right. The bad example comes from my own parents. They said, "We're young, stupid, and broke, so let's have kids. What could go wrong?" Yeah, I know that approach sometimes works well. And sometimes, the result is excellent, but not often enough for me to bet any brand-new lives on it. I also know that there are other factors and variables involved, so many that they make the Euler-Lagrange equations look simple, but my experience and continued observations have left me solidly opposed to the method. So, what is the method I'm not opposed to? Well, that one came from Art Bell, my favorite late-night paranormal radio show host. Art was a lot like me. His favorite things were radio, fast classic cars, guns, travel, the paranormal, beautiful women, history, classic rock, and cats. Not necessarily in that order. There were differences, too. He loved coffee, and I can't stand it. Before he created "Coast To Coast AM," he was married and divorced twice. Then he met Ramona and tried marriage again. He was very happy, finally. And then Ramona died in 2006 at the age of 47. They had been married for 15 years. Because that's the way life works. Really good things tend to have very fast expiration dates. #WasteAsLittleTimeAsPossible In 2006, he married again to Airyn Ruiz and they had Asia Rayne Bell and Alexander William Bell, which brought Art's total to six kids. Asia Rayne (They named her Asia because she was conceived in Hong Kong) is my main focus tonight because Art talked a lot about her on Coast and she seemed to make him very happy. And I was very impressed with the way they raised her. Before she was three, they had taken around the world at least once. She had also lived in the US and Manila (Her mom is Filipina-American). To me, that's how you do it right. And then Art died when she was around 11. Because that's the way life works. #DidIMentionDon'tWasteTime? With that in mind, let's, because politics doesn't sleep, go take another look at TACO's failed parade. And then there's another bit of parenting that impresses me entitled "The F-Word." It's about a little girl who asks her dad about the F word and if I ever have kids, I hope I do as well as that dad did. Don't watch that one if the F word bothers you because it's used a lot. ************* Trump PARADE turns into DISASTER as NO ONE SHOWS MeidasTouch 4.95M subscribers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJtnLOky0-Q -------------- The F-Word 5 days ago Mature The New Yorker In Alex and Paul Cannon’s comedic short, starring Chris Gethard, a dad struggles to give an age-appropriate explanation of the expletive.
