I was scrolling down Facebook one day, and I found this OTHER choir in Lichfield! This one is called Palace Singers, and they rehearse in my own church! Why didn't I know this before?! Anyway, I decided to go down on the Tuesday to their taster.session. When I got there, they asked me if I was a soprano or an alto. I said I didn't know. Then I just gave a little burst of "Laaaa!" And they designated me soprano! We did some warm ups. Just a little bit of la la and moo moo! We had to follow the choir leaders lead. It was a bit like a Freddie Mercury concert if truth me told! We sang a few songs, one of which was Now is the month of Maying. We had a booklet of songs and sonnets of William Shakespeare that have been set to music. From that we sang Live with me and be my love and Who is Silvia? We also started singing Swing low sweet chariot but we were running out of time so we only sang a little of it. There were parts for soprano at the top, then alto, then tenor then bass. I'm afraid the poor baritones have been left out! The choir leader would choose a group, either soprano, alto, tenor or bass, and get them to sing their bit, then another group and they would do their bit, until we'd all done our bits. Then we'd all do our bits together. It was really good, and I think I did really well, all things considered. I will be going again this week. And then on Wednesday it's Tuneless Choir again, and it's their 3rd birthday so I'll be taking a bottle of fizz (Appletize!) and cakes (vegan)! Two choirs!.And they couldn't be more different! What have you lot been getting up to? I hope you are all well. Have a great night. Nos da.

@Ineeddentures Thank you very much! Yes, shocking, isn't it? I dunno about that! When I'm not hitting the high notes I'm croaking! Sometimes Tuneless, sometimes not!

You are really into this singing business. Good for you. I cannot sing to save myself. I would probably fit perfectly in the tuneless choir.

@sharonelton She got a lot done. Her son had an emergency appendectomy; so she won't be coming for 2 weeks. He's doing fine by the way.

That's wonderful. I have been a glee club member which I was Junior and Senior High school studentd. Then in my college a member of College Choir. I sing the bass and tenor voice part. I also became a member of the choir of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in our branch. I had played the piano for the Choir daring our Church conference 45 years ago.

Thank you. Yes, I enjoyed it. You sing bass and tenor? You know when you've got parts right, you've got soprano, alto, tenor then bass. What happened to baritone?
